Think twice when you use booking.com for your reservations ( and do not give them your credit card details – I will get to this later ).

THE STORY

I book online to get to Chisinau from Bucharest and spend a few days in Chisinau. The choice was Apartament 31 August ( which is indeed on street 31 August, the day of the Romanian language ) and I make the huge mistake of paying using a credit card.

Arrived at the property at 2 pm they tell me the room is not ready yet, and I will have to wait. But they charge my card for the rest of the stay.

Instead of the ” apartament ” 31 August they give me the receptionists’ room , a crampy dirty room of 11 smq. I complain to booking about the room being ” significantly not as described ” and 2 days later they transfer me to the 31 August apartment. Which was decent, but it had an open toilet ( i.e. from the kitchen you can look directly into the toilet ).

When you read " Apartament 31 August " think twice. Booking.com reimbursed me for " property not being at standard described " after one year and one month.

When I complained ( again ) Jack from booking.com was very nice ( when you hear East-Europeans or Russians at the customer service try to change them , they will NOT help, they will NOT have compassion ).

All this was happening on July 19th 2018. Jack offered a 25E refund, as the property was not at the standard described.

I was reimbursed on Sept. 2nd 2019 ( that is one year and one month afterwards ).

Think twice when you use booking.com. Please.
